The objective of this page is to provide insights into trends in REIT stock prices organized by category. REIT stock price trends provide insights into how investors view the individual companies and underlying property sectors. While the data are deemed reliable and current, no representation is made as to their accuracy at any particular point in time. Interested visitors are encouraged to query the data themselves and rely on other sources for decision-making. To aid in the process, the ticker symbol for each REIT is presented in the respective tables.
It should be noted that the graphs and tables are designed to allow you to determine how various REITs and REIT categories stock price trends compare to their peer universe. As such, the price scale has been capped at $120. No adjustments are made for stock splits. While missing some peaks, this approach allows you to see the relative volatility of REIT stocks. The Time Periods indicate the most recent month included in the series as well as the same month in the prior year, 12 month and 3 year rolling averages, and 10 year averages, standard deviations and Return/Risk ratios for stock prices. For the 10 year periods, the average percent change in stock prices, standard deviation and Return/Risk ratios are presented. Finally, the current Index Value of the time-weighted returns over the past 10 years are presented; unless noted, the initial index of 100 was set for December 1999.
