This section prestents a list of spatial resource links that are of use to real estate and related disciplines interested in spatial research. The links point to free resources and include a brief overview of content and functionality.

American Community Survey data which can be accessed by various geographic areas including: state, county, town, or zip code. Select geography from drop down menu. Most recent data from 2015 and include full array of demographics; data can be viewed, bookmarked and downloaded at each layer including zip code.

This is a great resource for exploring inmigration, outmigration, and net-inmigration by county. You can select a county of interest along with a number of variables to identify where new residents are coming from as well as where lost residents have gone.

New The Environmental Justice Screening and Mapping Tool<-- Click to open

This is a great resource for assessing environmental quality of small geographic areas around a site. Sites can be accessed by address, or by clicking on an interactive map. Once a site is selected, click on Generate Report to get the facts. It might initially center on Washington DC but enter a city and it will pan to your desired location.   • Kansas City MO Traffic Counts <-- Click to open This is a visualization I created using the OPENDATA KC portal and Tableau. this one contains:

    • Several tabs at the top to select pages for vehicle and pedestrian counts, as well as base maps,
    • An iinteractive Dashboard Traffic Int Base Map which shows the traffic counts by intersection by direction,
    • A scroll bar to show the data by intersection by direction, and
    • A filter you can use to select Northbound/Southbound Streets and the map and tables will reflect the results.
